Draft Horse Demonstration & Community Day

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

This popular annual event starts at 10:00 a.m. with the hitching up of the horses and continues until mid-afternoon.  Watch how the hay was harvested during the late 1800s using strong draft horse teams and vintage machinery. Historic Hat Creek Ranch is also proud to host its “Community Day” on the same day, offering local residents free admission to the historic site.

Trappers’ Rendezvous

Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd, 2008

Take a step back in time and experience the trappers’ lifestyle at their camp, where they demonstrate the use of flint lock guns or black powder rifles and show you how trappers used to live, hunt and prepare their meals.

Trail Rides

This year we are happy to welcome back trail rides. Ride out on the trails ‘in the hoof prints” of the early settlers and gold seekers, and explore the beautiful countryside behind Historic Hat Creek Ranch. Please check back for Times and Prices as they become finalized.
